Ledge View Nature Center

Ledge View Nature Center Building Remodel Press Release:

Ledge View Nature Center will be closed beginning November 2nd to reopen Spring 2026

* Update on the Progress of the Ledgeview Building Remodel *

We’re excited to share that the new addition to the Ledgeview building, which includes two classrooms, a family restroom, a utility room, and a display room—has been completed!

The existing portion of the building has also undergone significant improvements. The kitchen, restrooms, and office have been remodeled, and the exterior now features new windows, doors, a roof, and updated siding.

Currently, subcontractors are working on painting and installing final electrical and plumbing fixtures. New epoxy flooring has been laid throughout the entire building. Exterior siding has been installed and is awaiting final paint. In the coming three weeks, finish grading, concrete sidewalks, and the patio are scheduled for installation.

Whilst we are seeing solid progress on the project, we do not have an occupancy date yet. Once the renovation is finished the nature center will remain closed for a few additional weeks to allow time for moving back in and reassembling some of the displays. Additional exhibits will be introduced gradually over the next year.

We do not have an official reopening date but look forward to announcing when the community can return to explore and enjoy the newly improved space!

Thank you for your patience and continued support as we enhance this wonderful community facility.

The park, trails, tower, fun trail, pavilion and outdoor restrooms are open from sun up to sun down. We do allow dogs on leashes in the park, as long as waste is removed. A dog waste disposal station is located at the trail head by the kiosk.

Ledge View Nature Center is a 105-acre Calumet County park and environmental education center located just south of Chilton, WI.  The park is best known for its caves, but also contains woodland, dolomite ledges, open prairie and an inactive quarry. Hikers can enjoy 3 miles of trails, a 60-foot observation tower, an arboretum, and gardens with native wildflowers. Visitors can also view displays and interactive exhibits inside the nature center building.
