Generally all materials are provided so we require advanced payment when signing up. 

Group sizes are small so early sign-up is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Jim Feyen from Siberian Outpost will bring several of his furry friends to share the art and history of dogsledding and Siberian huskies. Witness this arctic working breed doing what they love best- pulling a sled! Meet the huskies and learn about their care and personality.

Saturday, February 4th from 6:00-7:30pm. 

Snowshoe with a naturalist to enjoy the beauty of the winter woods under the light of the full moon. Learn about some of the special adaptations our animals have for surviving long winter nights. Listen for calling owls. Program is dependent on weather and adequate snow cover. Limit of 30 participants.

$6.00 per person (includes snowshoe rental if needed). 

Traditional Soap Making - Plant Based Workshopsoap

Saturday, February 11th at 10:00am-12:00pm

No melt and pour here! Learn the traditional soap making method so that you are able to craft safe, plant based bars for your family and friends. This workshop will cover the equipment you need, options for ingredients and the process. Participants will be guided through making their own batch of soap. This is a hands on workshop and you will take home 3 different bars.

Saturday, February 11th at 1:00-4:00pm


Layer macramé evergreen trees to create a forest wall hanging using driftwood. This is a simple technique to learn, and only takes around 15 minutes per tree. All materials will be provided. You will need to bring a SHARP pair of scissors for trimming.

Macrammacrame hoops example crop - Editedé Hoop Weaving Workshop

Saturday, February 18th at 1:00pm

Create a woven wall hanging out of golden hoops and macramé to decorate your home! Follow step-by-step weaving instructions, using two colors of macramé cord, golden hoops (12” & 10”) and some wooden beads, if you want to get creative! All materials provided. $14.00 per person. Limit of 20 participants.

A lantern lit snow shoe trailLantern Lit Snowshoe Hike 

Saturday, February 18th at 5:00-8:00pm

Bundle up and bring the family out to enjoy a self-guided night time snowshoe hike on lantern lit trails. Listen for owls, stargaze and enjoy the winter woodland at night. A unique and fun experience! $2 per person. 

Snowshoe rental (traditional style) available on the night- must be back by 8pm. $5/pair due at time of renting. Snowshoes rentals are available on a first come first serve basis. Range of sizes available although popular sizes may be limited.

Program is weather dependent. Registration will begin February 13th. 

Handmade Pressed Flower Candles WorkshopHandmade Pressed Flower Candles

Saturday, February 25th at 10:00am 

This is a great workshop for the family and is as easy as melt, paint, dry! Following a demonstration by a naturalist, participants will get to choose from a variety of beautiful pressed flowers and plants to decorate both of their candles. This is a simple, yet beautiful way to add character to your home with handmade and functional decorations. This workshop will use real wax candles and real pressed flowers and will involve a small flame from a tea light candle. All materials provided. Each person gets (1) 2x6” candle and (1) 2x3” candle. $10.00 per person. Limit of 20 participants.

TShower steamers crop - Editedhe Shower-Lovers Bath Bomb, Without the Mess!

Saturday, February 25th at 1:00pm

In the midst of the cold season, shower steamers can boost your mood and open up your sinuses! These are a shower-lovers version of a bath bomb. The steam in the shower will release the relieving aroma of peppermint and eucalyptus. Participants will follow a step-by-step recipe and tutorial led by a naturalist to create four large shower steamers to take home and enjoy. $10.00 per person. Limit of 20 participants.
