Planting a vegetable garden is a great way to produce fresh, delicious and nutritious food. It also helps to connect your kids to where their food comes from. Gardening is great exercise, helps to relieve stress and connects you to the earth. Every year I plant an organic vegetable garden, I started by learning a few basic principles and through experimentation have grown my skills from there. You can do the same, it is not difficult and you don’t need a lot of space. This workshop will take you through the basics; garden bed construction, soil, compost, nourishing and caring for your plants, and weed management/pest control. Part of the workshop will be outdoors and hands on.
If you’ve ever thought about growing your own vegetables but don’t really know where to start, this is the workshop for you!
