Land Information / GIS Maps
The Land Information Office (LIO) is the coordinating office for all land records activity in Calumet County. The LIO administers the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide geographic information system (GIS) for use by the federal, state, and local governments, as well as utilities, the private sector, and the general public.
The Calumet County Land Information Office is one of the most progressive and advanced in the state. The LIO's top priority is to make high quality land records data easily accessible to the public by way of the internet. At Calumet Maps anyone can access our powerful online mapping application as well as many other custom mapping applications. Much of the original GIS data (in shapefile format) is freely available for download there, along with many of the most requested pre-made maps and map books.
GIS
A geographic information system (GIS) is a complex network of data, software, hardware and people that is designed for the collection, maintenance, analysis, and display of geographic information. The information can be displayed using traditional paper maps, online maps, tables, workflows, graphs, charts, and many more. The easiest way to gain access to the massive data archives of the Land Information Office is to visit our GIS website at Calumet Maps.
Land Records Modernization Plan
The Calumet County Land Records Modernization Plan is a document that outlines the LIO's planned projects for the next five years. The plan is updated in accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Administration rules and is published on their website as well as here. The goal of the plan is to ensure Calumet County is moving forward in accordance with the foundational elements developed by the land information community.
Data Dissemination
Calumet County has made much of its data available online as hard copy maps or digital data. Please contact the Land Information Office for custom data or for additional information. The cost for custom data is determined by the time it takes to manipulate and reproduce the data for the specific request and the cost of materials used to disseminate the data.
