Zoning

The Calumet County Code Administrators administer and enforce the county’s land use codes. Assistance is provided for zoning, building and land use permits, sanitation, floodplain regulations, mining reclamation, and wind energy.

General Zoning Ordinance

The ordinance is known as Chapter 82 of the Calumet County Code of Ordinances (PDF). The ordinance establishes the land use regulations for the areas under county zoning jurisdiction. Current zoning district boundaries used by the county are shown on the On-line Mapping Site. This ordinance is in effect in the towns of Brillion, Charlestown, New Holstein, and Woodville.

Shoreland Zoning Ordinance

Shoreland Zoning Ordinance Chapter 52 – Calumet County Shoreland Zoning (PDF) contains standards that govern development in shoreland areas within 1,000 feet of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable lakes, ponds, or flowages, or within 300 feet of the ordinary high-water mark of navigable rivers or streams. The purpose of the ordinance is to establish minimum shoreland zoning standards as required by the State and to limit the direct and cumulative impacts of shoreland development on water quality. Chapter 52 is in effect in all the unincorporated areas of Calumet County.

Floodplain Ordinance

Chapter 51 - Floodplain (PDF) contain standards that govern development and land disturbing activities in floodplains with the purpose of protect life, health, and property. Chapter 51 is in effect in all unincorporated areas of Calumet County.
