The Calumet County LEPC serves the community through planning for chemical incidents and to promote the community’s right to know about hazardous chemicals. Committee representatives are from the following groups:

Law Enforcement, Fire, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management (Civil Defense), Hospital & Health Officials, Environmental, and Transportation

The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)
EPCRA was created to help communities plan for chemical emergencies. It also requires industry to report on the storage, use, and releases of hazardous substances to federal, state and local governments.
