Victim/Witness Assistance Program
The Victim/Witness Assistance Program, located within the District Attorney's Office, provides support to victims and witnesses of crime. This program ensures that all victims and witnesses are treated with sensitivity, fairness, dignity, compassion and respect. The Victim/Witness Assistance Program ensures that the rights of victims and witnesses are honored and protected, as outlined in Wisconsin Statutory Chapter 950.
The staff believes in a caring and sensitive response to victims and witness during the court process. Victims and witnesses should not be blamed for what has happened to them and sensitivity to their privacy is given. Victims and witnesses need support, services, and a voice and this program is here to help.
